Workforce Development and Professional Development Supports

A focus of NASA and ISGC is to shed light on the importance of work force development in STEM and space industries.  We understand the importance of setting goals, hard-work, and collaboration.  Our desire is to encourage and support the development of skills students of Idaho can directly use to become dependable assets to the industry.

What are we currently doing?

Idaho-based Internships - Our competitive internship program provides stipends to students for 10-weeks of summer work and research at industries and institutions of higher education across Idaho with mentor support.

Fellowships-  Our year long Fellowships support students engaging in research that supports NASA.

The Build the Moon Challenge helps foster problems solving and teamwork, as young as Elementary school (jr.) and Middle school.  Currently in its 2nd year of missions, the Build the Moon Challenge introduces the concepts of using lunar regolith to plan, develop and build habitats on the moon's surface. The program is currently being developed, with 4 teams across Idaho taking on the new challenge.

Travel Grants for professional conferences and presentations- When conducting research, students are often provided with opportunities to present poster and other findings.

Student Challenges: VAST, MicroG, SUITES, Student-Led High-Powered Rocketry at ISU
